I have to admit, with all the driving/visiting/family events we had planned for Christmas weekend, I fully expected to be completely overwhelmed/exhausted/borderline miserable by the halfway mark. Turns out I was wrong! As busy as it was, I enjoyed every minute, so fortunate to be surrounded by amazing friends and family.
My 4 days of Christmas began with a 3 hour drive to visit the bestie and her beautiful new baby. This girl has been the sweetest, most loyal friend on the planet to me for 27 years now. (Holy cow! That makes me feel old!) I don't get to see enough of her these days.
Our just-for-fun trip to Santana Row (shopping Mecca) at the height of the holiday frenzy has me convinced that baby Abby has definitely inherited mama's shopping-gene. What a little angel!
Christmas Eve-Eve the boyfriend (Travis) and I took some of my family out for dinner. Pretty sure I spent most the evening laughing non-stop. Even though they don't live too far away, it's a treat to be able to get together with Dad and brother at the same time. They are two amazing guys.
Christmas Eve meant driving to a large family gathering at the home of Travis's parents where we enjoyed some Hot Apple Pie (best holiday drink ever, IMO) and the company of a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.

Christmas Day itself was filled with more family and friends, more love and laughs than I could have hoped for! But the very best part of the day came as Travis and I were exchanging gifts at home in front of the fire place. The very last present I opened was a tiny, black velvet box, with...an engagement ring! While I was still in shock, my boyfriend got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife :-) (Of course, I said "yes!")
